Barkley, Michael Roger, 58

Michael passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Michael was born in Hollywood, Calif. and graduated from Westchester High School. He attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. He pursued a career in law enforcement and was recruited by the Portland Police Bureau. After 30 years of highly decorated service, he retired in 2008. His retirement lasted one weekend before he returned to work for the Bureau as an investigator in the Internal Affairs Division. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth. Survivors include his wife, Maggie Barkley; daughter, Blaine Barkley; mother, Vera Barkley; brother, Daniel Barkley; sister, Deborah Barkley; nephews, Jeremy Barkley and Ryan Barkley; nieces, Stacy Revay and Kristy Stromberg. He is also survived by stepsons, Jason and Grant Hilton; plus four step-grandchildren. Michael loved his family above all things and will be missed by all who knew him. A private memorial service will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Beaverton, OR.
